Milestones in the history of iwood
 

1 January 2005: The company gets reorganized. New holder of patent and trade mark rights is Christoph Affentranger.

 

13 August 2004: The CTI supported research project is finished. The basic knowledge to build a pilot plant is ready.

 

3 October 2003: CTI gives "Go ahead" for second round of research.

 

16 June 2003: iwood receives Schweighofer Foundation Award.

 

25 March 2003: During the jubilee ceremony 10 years Technopark Zürich iwood receives the ZKB Pionierpreis TECHNOPARK® for its outstanding innovations.

 

13 February 2003: iwood receives the Swiss Technology Award 2003.

 

28 January 2003: iwood finds first partners with n`H Akustik + Design AG and the BSZ foundation.

 

22 November 2002: iwood awarded with the Wall Street Journal Europe Innovation Award 2002 as on of Europe`s leading innovators.

 

23 August 2002: The Swiss Federal Commission for Technology and Innovation CTI supports the research program of iwood with more than CHF 500,000.

 

19 June 2002: iwood awarded with the CHF 100,000 W.A. de Vigier Foundation prize in support of young entrepreneurs.

 

1 January 2002: iwood starts business.

 

28 November 2001: the firm innovation wood (iwood) is found as a public limited company (AG).

 
May 2001: The Swiss Fund for Forest and Timber Research, part of the Swiss Agency for the Environment, Forests and Landscape (BUWAL) supports a basic study about SLP at the SH Holz Biel through a contribution of CHF 30,000. Project manager is Dr. Frédéric Pichelin; Christian Stalder carries out the studies.
 
March 2001: The Swiss College of Timber Management, SH Holz Biel, is interested in a joint project to develop the idea further.
 
Summer 2000: Christoph Affentranger's idea emerges to make a panel out of saw dust with yeast in the style of baking bread.
